Well we finally found a sister for Holly. She is a Morkie, Maltese/Yorkie mix, and we named her Bailey. She has beautiful coloring, mostly red with touches of black on her feet, chin, and tail. We picked her up almost a month ago, so we have been busy potty training again. It has been tiring, but she is a quick learner. This past week she has even slept through the night three times. She and Holly get along well, but Holly is still young, so all the wrestling can be annoying sometimes.
Shortly after we got her, we noticed Holly was having some problems. She had developed another urinary tract infection. After taking medication for five days she didn't seem to be getting any better-in fact she stopped going first thing in the morning! The vet prescribed something for pain and swelling. She took that a couple of days and then stopped going all together! That sent her to the vet for a full workup, and they didn't find anything. In fact her UTI was clearing up so nicely that there was no need to bring in a follow up sample. At this same time, Nate got very sick. The first trip to the doctor led to the diagnosis of sinus infection. Five days later he was even sicker, hacking up blood, so back to the doctor. They tested him for mono, influenza, and pneumonia. The chest x-ray showed pneumonia. Weird thing is that at this very same time last year, Nate was sick with something similar. The first trip to the doctor, they sent him home with the same medicine as for the sinus infection. When we went back, they switched antibiotics to the same one he is now taking for the pneumonia. I discovered this as I was digging through my medical receipts for taxes. As I played nurse to everyone, making sure they got their correct medicine on time, I think I accidentely took the dog's antibiotic. Felt so dumb, but several Facebook friends said they had either done the same thing, or come very close. Took Bailey for the last of her vaccinations this week, and now I'm having to give her medicine for ear infections. I have been off work the past two days with a stomach bug (that is taking it's sweet time to work through), so the fun continues!
Noah had some good news. He has a couple of interviews for real jobs! He would start right away and be a certified financial planner by the end of summer. After he finished school in the fall, then he would be hired on full time. Praying that all goes well and God opens the door to where he is supposed to be. Of course, his car needed fixing. Only $625 this time. Just get one repair paid for and then..... At least I can praise God for always providing for our needs! Also had a little scare that the insurance company might not cover Nate's scope. Another prayer was answered, and the procedure was covered. Just need to start praying harder that God will give Nate a vision for his life! He's still working at Petsmart and Joureys, but these are not careers.
Otherwise, not much is new. We have had some beautiful weather and nearly all the snow has melted. Of course we knew it couldn't last, and we are expecting snow the next four days. Still, it was a nice reprieve in the middle of winter. Even had some days up in the middle 60's! Jim worked some 12 hour nights a couple of weekends ago doing some safety repairs at the plant. The overtime was really appreciated. Noah and I upgraded our phones to IPhones. It has been fun discovering all the useful apps.
Well that's about all for now. Leave a comment if you stopped by to read my blog.
